Paul Harris

Systems Engineer & Clinical Data Researcher

Three decades building decision support and management information systems. I began as a researcher and statistics programmer at the ABC, working on human resources, radio management, and board reporting systems, then spent 23 years at IBM in systems integration and consulting across Australasia and North America — corporate finance clients in banking, insurance, and telecommunications.

Since 2013 I've turned to neuroscience, clinical research, and biostatistics, applying that experience to clinical data analytics and digital health. My research focuses on wearable sensors and physical activity monitoring in stroke and older adults. Different domain, same question: getting the right information to the person making the decision.

This site collects my publications, code, and analysis write-ups.

Overview

The panels above open into this frame.

Curriculum Vitae — three decades in systems engineering, decision support and management information systems at the ABC and IBM, and the qualifications behind the move into clinical research.

Publications — peer-reviewed work on physical activity sensors in stroke and older adults, and cognitive impairment following TIA and minor stroke. Full record on ORCID.

Analysis & Code — method write-ups and the code behind them. Clinical data can't be shared, so these use simulated or public datasets.
